Froilan Gonzalez surgery

ex F1 driver battling for his life.

Froilan Gonzalez, who gave Ferrari the first win in F1, is currently facing a surgery.
91 years old Jose Froilan Gonzalez was admitted in the morning with "chest discomfort", as informed relatives of the former pilot. He was submitteed for an emergency surgery. In the course of the afternoon he was stabilized by the team of doctors of the Fleming Institute (Argentina). The doctors decided to schedule more interventions. "Pepe" is recovering fine.


Lets recall the anniversary of his victory with Ferrari (Silverstone ´51), were spanish driver Fernando Alonso drove his car to honour Froilan. He couldnt flight to England for this event because of his heart conditions, he can barely attend appointments out of his house. He was congratulated by the Ferrari team and F1 bosses via skype.(Althought he has attended Buenos Aires event "Ferrari Track Day" driving one of his Ferraris.)

Argentina is entering into winter season, Gonzales heart and lung conditions makes him fragile to cold weather so this is going to be a hard season for the F1 wise old man. Froilan Gonzalez and Juan Manuel Fangio
